Sims Pictures [18 Aug 2008|03:24am] [ music | Who Wants To Live Forever - Queen ] Okay, so as most might know, I reloaded the Sims 2. I've been lucky, my old game is running reasonably, though I'm not totally without bugs stuffing things up. Probably the most annoying thing is that I can't reduce the game to do something else, or the game will totally crash. I used to be able to reduce it, but not anymore. This means that it has taken three goes to get Starwing's makeover done again - not counting the crash this evening, since I'd managed to save after doing the clothing shopping. On the upside, I seem to be having luck with working with Plant Sims, even to the point of spending a while this evening playing the Greenman house in preparation of moving Rose into Ultra Magnus' house (which includes editing her relationship with Jason Greenman so I could trigger some fighting). New Sims... [14 Aug 2008|11:37pm] [ music | This Moment - Disturbed ] Now that I have Vector, I'm going to try the Sims 2 again. I will be trying to start up the old game again, but if it borks, I'm going to do a total clean sweep and start a completely new set of sims. Of course, if I have to do that, I will be sad, because there are so many family set-ups that I had established in my old game, and children of my sims I wanted to keep - like the Strife-Gainsborough-Leonhart-Valentine kids, and the two Prime girls - but if it borks, it borks. But I have a while yet, it'll probably take me all night just to do installations of the expansion packs. If the game allows me in, I might try exporting the key houses, like the Strifes, the Leonharts, the Valentines, Shiva, Mimi and the Hyperboles, the Seekers, Megatron, and the two Prime houses. ETA: Things are good so far, got the pre-Freetime save loaded, which had Magnus pregnant but still at the Witwicky house (i.e. Optimus and Soundwave's house) so I have to totally renovate his house, but it does mean I'll have Starwing. ( He also has a different Seeker as Housemate ) I made a temp sim named Elita-1, ( She's the creepy purple goth clown ) I won't get Vanessa Prime back - at least it'll be bloody unlikely, since she was an adoptee. I do hope that when I do get Optimus and Sound to adopt that I get a girl again, I have loads more custom content for females in general. Theoretically, if I get a girl again, I could remake her into Vanessa v.2, since I have tools to change a sim's first name and makeovers are dead easy. PSP [28 Jul 2008|10:21pm] [ mood | accomplished ] [ music | Far Away - Nickelback ] Well I've finally gone and done it - I put a PSP on laybuy. It's a special edition Crisis Core one, with CC pictures on the casing and the CC game in the package. The whole laybuy is that package, a memory card, Final Fantasy 1 and 2. The card is a 4 Gig one, they had no 1 Gig in stock but I preferred to get the bigger one anyway. I still have about $350 to pay on all of that, and I put down $200 when I made the laybuy. I didn't laybuy Revenant Wings with it however, and I'm going to have to get other accessories (like protective cases and such) for it later. But this does mean when I get the PSP home, I'll have four games and a memory card to use on it. The next several weeks' money is going to be totally taken up with paying it off however, with only phone bills and maybe fuel that I can really allow for. I'm hoping to get $100 on it each fortnight, barring whichever the next phonebill hits on. 6 comments|post comment

Honey, I'm Home! [23 Jul 2008|01:55pm] [ mood | chipper ] Fëanor is fixed! Turns out it was the graphics card, which was pretty cheap to replace - under $200, labour not included. Because that was so low, even with labour (another $100), I asked for something that I have been considering for a while - another internal hard drive. The one I end up buying? One terabyte. All up, it was $598. I also got my Leader class Optimus Prime (of normal colouring) off laybuy, but I couldn't put a PSP on laybuy because EB Games currently has a big sale running and they don't laybuy during sale time. I also can't go to another game shop because the PSP bundle I want is the limited edition Crisis Core bundle. I'm going to see if I can get it onto laybuy when I go into work next week, since the sale will be over by then. I'm also wanting to laybuy FF1, FF2, Revenant Wings and maybe Sims 2 Ikea Stuff with it, though I'm debating the last because I'm thinking of reloading the Sims 2 now Fëa's back. Update [18 Jul 2008|01:14pm] Okay, so I got my second group certificate last weekend and, because I had the short tax form, phoned it in on Sunday. Came into the library today to pick up comments and pay a couple of bills and found, while in online banking, that instead of a bit over $200, I had a bit over $1000. So next thing is to go home, get Fëanor all unplugged and lug it all the way back here, to the shop. It's getting closer folks. I also need to get a camera up to my room, Prime and Maggy are good at getting some nice positions. 2 comments|post comment

Fëa's Dead [11 Jul 2008|01:19pm] Okay, I have been stuck offline for the past week. The compy has sprouted a problem - the screen just goes totally black, with no warning and can't be recovered except by rebooting, and usually does it again after reboot so quick the reboot isn't even through yet. The thing that has been keeping me offline is that I don't have money. It's ironic that this happened the day after I bought a $200 Transformer toy too. I don't expect to have money to get it fixed until my tax return comes back, and I don't have the Centrelink group certificate yet so I can't send it in yet. As it is, my optimistic estimate of when I'll have money is the end of the month, my pessimistic one is halfway through August. I'm only able to make this post through the library computer and the happy fact that I have a file containing my LJ passwords on Ravage. Frankly, I'm currently spending my time sleeping a lot, watching DVDs, and playing around with Prime (not to mention the latest itteration of my OT3 that I have been entertaining). I'm already starting to go stir crazy, and this is only the start. >/ 7 comments|post comment

Transformer Shopping [03 Jul 2008|06:25pm] [ mood | giddy ] I was at the Hyperdome today and ducked into Toyworld to see what they had in the way of Transformers toys. Well, Leader Class is available, but only Nightwatch Optimus Prime. I checked in Big W, only Nightwatch there as well (I did briefly consider Leader Class Megatron, but only briefly). As consolation I did grab Deluxe Class Stealth Bumblebee (who is black with yellow stripes) instead, with ideas of eventually getting Cliffjumper and the normal Bee so I had Camero triplets. Anyway, I dropped by the Toyworld over the other side of the freeway, on the way up to the supermarket we usually shop at, and while I considered getting TFA Prowl I did grab Cliffjumper, then I gave the shelf of Nightwatch Primes another good hard raiding... and found a normal Leader Class Optimus. Given that he's $90, I put him on laybuy and bought Cliffy before heading for the supermarket. Anyway, taken with the idea of Camero triplets, I stopped off at Target, in the shopping mall across the road from the one my supermarket is in. No beans, no yellow Bee - should have grabbed him back at the Hyperdome Toyworld but I hadn't decided to get the Cameros at that point and I was not all that interested in TFA Blackarachnia or TFA Bee as consolation... but then I noticed the bottom shelf... MASTERPIECE OPTIMUS PRIME. I put him on laybuy, then Mum offered the $100 Dad had given us when he stopped by on the weekend (he'd just got back from Papua New Guinea - he'd been on a crew taking a boat to the Solomon Islands that had to run for PNG due to weather and engine problems). With that, and taking a little out of my rent (I'll make it up next week), I went back to the laybuy counter and bought him. ( Pictures! ) He's currently in truck mode, which as Kelly says, is not that crash hot - the seams are rather obvious - but I go easy on that. The transformation is complex, but I think Cliffy is more annoying. The only thing is how aggravating it is going to be to get the Matrix out. I think I also need batteries for him, but I can't really afford it due to having to dip into the rent. This sure beats having to get him off Ebay, that's for sure! Both him and his movieverse alter ego. Now I have to contemplate tracking down a Rodimus so I can have my trine all together. Now I need to go take a nap. P.S. I am in love with Prime's gun. Ironic really, back when I had access to Noddy's G1 OP I had a thing for his gun too. 2 comments|post comment

Umm... Is that an animation error? [30 Jun 2008|06:23am] [ mood | tired ] Been watching G1 episodes again, namely the season three Optimus Prime ones, and noticed something of an... oversight. When Rodimus lost the Matrix in Dark Awakening and The Burden Hardest To Bear he shrunk back to being Hot Rod. In The Return of Optimus Prime Pt. 2, after Optimus took the Matrix off him... he didn't. But the in The Rebirth he's back to Hot Rod but I am not fond of The Rebirth and tend to discount it, so does that mean I can get away with ignoring his downgrade? I hate that stupid downgrading. Meh, I'm thinking this while tired, and after reading a less than stellar fic (and that's an understatement) that I really wish had been better because it had Optimus/Rodimus in it (which is missing a certain big bot, in my opinion). 3 comments|post comment

White Veccy! [17 Jun 2008|02:02pm] My Vector Prime has arrived! It took a bit to actually find him at post office - the guy was searching for at least a good 15 minutes and even called the distribution centre and one of the other postshops to see if it got accidentally sent to the wrong place. But he found it eventually, and it was in some rather interesting packaging - around all the cardboard and padding it had pink wrapping paper. Anyway, it is the soft-wing version of the toy, but I don't really mind. While the hard-wing version probably looks damn cool, this one still looks pretty good as well - I love the colours on him. He's still got a bend in his sword though, like his gold twin - from what someone said in the CT chat, it's something that always happens. ^^ 3 comments|post comment

Good News Week [16 Jun 2008|09:56pm] I finally got around to watching Good News Week tonight (for non-Australians, it's a gameshow that pokes fun at stuff that has turned up in world news) and the first question (after the Strange But True clues) was about the guy banned from a plane for wearing a Transformers T-shirt. Then later, when it got back to the Strange But True clues, one set of clues was a video camera, a bottle of lubricant (car lubricant) and the song "Born To Be Wild". The answer to it was that apparently someone has made a documentary about people with car fetishes. I couldn't help wonder how many of them are also Transformers fans. 1 comment|post comment

'Tis the Season of Dreams! [24 May 2008|04:44pm] Interesting that I should have another vivid dream so soon after the TF one. This time, mostly not fandom, except there was a little Star Wars somewhere in there - mostly Han Solo trying to escape people who want to kill him. Oddly it had overtones of being linked to a past dream. But anyway, the main dream was about me running into a group of kids (young teens) shoplifting in a supermarket and following along with them as they sneak through a hospital, nicking stuff - mainly junkfood randomly lying around the place. There's a security guard that starts chasing us however, calling the kids "rats" and me and the Rats race to keep ahead of him, eventually getting out into the hospital courtyard, in two groups (me and the two girls, followed by the two boys) and as the security guard comes out we run around the back of the hospital, which has a drop not far behind it that goes down into woods. We run along the edge of the drop, trying to find the right spot to slide down - 'cause the Rats have a hiding place in the woods - and it's just turned night and we get away just as the security guy come round and makes some declaration that he (and the other guards) will probably see the Rats again, in a very "I'll get you next time!" sort of way. Long Time; No See (I had a dream!) [23 May 2008|09:25am] [ mood | awake ] [ music | Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring - JS Bach ] So, I had a dream. I managed to remember some of the details by dint of thinking over them furiously when I woke up because it was a fandom dream - Transformers fandom, at least. I'll probably take it to tf_bunny_farm later. Anyway, in it, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are involved in a relationship with First Aid, however due to reasons un-elaborated but possibly due to some form of civic duty, both of the two first Combiner teams have been assigned away fro the Ark (or whatever), together and First Aid has been making friends with Fireflight. Only, when the Combiners get a chance to come home for a visit the Twins pick up on the friendship and get insanely jealous, and while First Aid is protesting that it means nothing, it is not totally nothing. The nose plates just don't want to line up properly! Now I'm having TF dreams [13 Apr 2008|04:52pm] [ mood | amused ] [ music | Kein Lust - Rammstien ] It's actually quitw simple, I managed to encapsulate it in two sentences to Stormeh... Everyone is fighting over Ultra Magnus so a competition is set up - one that involves running around a maze and eliminating everyone else. The maze looked like a supermarket and Prowl is pulling dirty tricks on Hot Rod which seem more like an offer of teaming up than getting him out of the way. Yeah...
